You’ve already secured your Maui condo rental, and now you’re trying to put a list together of fun things to do once you arrive and get settled in. Of course you want to go to the beach, it’s what a Maui vacation is all about! But what about your kids, or even toddlers? Not to worry, there are several beaches on Maui, including those on the West Side, where your little ones can have a blast and you can enjoy peace of mind.

Baby Beach in Lahaina Town provides ample sandy shallow areas, about three to four feet deep, that go out into the ocean about 30 feet from shore at high tide, and there’s also plenty of shade when you want to escape the sun or keep your little one from getting sunburned. Morning or afternoon, this is a wonderful spot for families with little ones.

Napili Beach is another spectacular beach for families who have older children that enjoy snorkeling or just enjoying the water and gorgeous views. Of course it’s still warm during winter months on Maui – the water is calm at Napili Beach during winter, and you’ll rarely see a wave. With the Sea House Restaurant just steps away, enjoy a snack, lunch, or cocktail on the beach!

Launiupoko Beach offers fun for the entire family, particularly those with small children, as the park has a natural pool formed and surrounded by a lava rock wall. A great beach for picnics and surfers, Launiupoko Beach Park is just off the road when you’re en route to Lahaina.

Located about four miles south of Lahaina, just off the Honoapiilani Highway, is where you’ll find Olowalu Beach, a great place for the kids and adults alike. No surf, great snorkeling, shady spots to get out of the sun, and a nearby store where you can get snacks, ice, and drinks when all the water fun kicks up your thirst and appetite.

These are a few of the many beaches on Maui that are kid-friendly, so mom and dad can enjoy vacation without the worry. While there are plenty of things to see and fun activities, spending time on the beach is a top priority when you’re vacationing in a tropical paradise!
